Morgan Stanley is a large American born organisation with an Investment Banking history. Their Platinum Credit Card is a MasterCard rather than a Visa - but this really isn't an issue at all anymore.

The cashback rate on offer is tiered, paying 1% on the first £2,000 you spend, but then dropping to 0.5%. There is an initial bonus rate of 2% but this does only last for your first 4 months.

A little maths wizardry proves that this card would pay you the best cashback if you were to spend less than about £5,000 on it in your first year. If you're likely to spend more than £5,000, or spend more than £2,000 in the years after the first one, then you would do better elsewhere.
